In the winter of 1939 I met a young girl who was doing domestic work for a Colonel's family, and fell madly in love, we were married in August of 1940.  After our marriage she went to work for an officer in the Medical Corp. It was at this Officer's suggestion that I transfer into the Medical Corp. I served as X-ray technician at the Base Hospital; this total period of service lasted from May, 1939 until March, 1942.
