Japanese propaganda often justified their forceful tactics by citing a lack of cooperation from other persons, societies and even entire nations.

This enabled them to maintained their stance of �good intentions.�  Japan was the good parent while the child countries of Asia, as stubborn as they were in the Japanese� eyes, didn�t know what was good for them.  Japan was always fighting on their side yet felt that she had been constantly snubbed despite her assistance. 

The arched roof towards the rear of the photograph suggests that this control panel is inside a lateral.
