At 251100I patrol #15 reached mine area in vic of San Tiago and reported field in poor shape. Off limits signs were posted both in English and Visayen. Patrol scattered surrender leaflets along route. Approx 200 enemy were observed in all. Patrol made an attempt to have Japs surrender but was unsuccessful. Patrol was ordered to return and not take up the mine field because of it being too dangerous to do so.

 Nil activity reported by local security and recco patrols.

One Jap officer and one EM reported to 2d Bn commander with mission of arranging surrender of the Kondo Butai Forces. A formal surrender has been arranged for 4th Sep '45.

Lt. Gen. Kono, 9 staff officers, plus approximately 1600 officers and enlisted men surrendered informally to Lt. Col. Lawrie, commanding allied forces on Negros vic Hda Santa_Rosa (13.5-24.2).

PHASE X
1 September 1945

"2 September, 1000 - Approximately 700 Nip officers and men commander by Lt. Col. Yuge surrendered to elements of 3d Bn vic San Pablo (13.7-21.45)."

"4 September, 1945 , 1330, 1009 enemy of Kondo Force surrendered to 2d Bn vic Mabini confined to Fabrica stockade."

11 September 1945, 1300 - "Col Watanabe's aide contacted enemy vic Nasig and arranged meeting 13 Sept at (14.5-11.0) to conclude surrender of approx 800 members of Olie force." 

Local security and recon patrols reported nil activity. Party from 2d Bn arrived it Fabrica to start surrender negotiations with enemy remaining in 2d Bn area of responsibility.

Company was alerted to move to another station.
