DISEMBARKING AT ORO BAY,
NEW GUINEA - On 14 April 1944, the USAT SEA CAT finally dropped
anchor at Oro Bay, New Guinea. We debarked and were transported in DUKWs
from the ship's gangway direct to the battalion area at Cape Sudest.
After less than two months in Brisbane with its good food, and social
activities, strenuous training, we were again returned, and in top
physical condition and mental capability..
