C-47'S TURN INTO CIRCUIT AFTER DROPPING EACH STICK - Judging by the few parachutes on the ground when this photograph was taken, this would be one of the first 'sticks' of the invasion. It clearly shows Landing Zone "A" [the parade ground] and Landing Zone "B" [the golf course]. Aircraft using "A" were flying anticlockwise, "B" clockwise. The smoke is from the bombardment of bottomside and Engineer Ravine, which continued during the parachute drop.
