We took these pictures the day before I left Dumaguete for home.  I had 'acquired' a bunch of flags by right of battle, all the way since Noemfoor. When faced by a camera, everyone wanted to pose with them.  None of the flags made it home with me though  - the fly boys being shipped home with me wanted them, and they had the cash.  I  guess I'd  used my luck getting the flags, as I later lost the proceeds in a crap game.

The big garrison flag at the back had been captured by Arvil Maxwell. After his death there was talk of all "G" Co men signing it and sending it to his home in Ada, Oklahoma That conversation took place at the time we were taking group pictures and I was preparing to go home.

Hicks loaned me his flight jacket when I went on leave to Newcastle.  We all called him Jimmy, I have no idea why, but I do remember the name Howard.
