A C-47 drops a stick of 7 on Landing Zone A; Notice that men have
taken a command and observation at the top of the
water towers. This is a good picture of the spears made by
bombs and shells cutting trees and brush on the landing zone.
(In Mississippi, we called
these "stobs." ) This photograph was the basis for
the Dietz painting of the Corregidor drop.
