Encounters a long line of vehicles (USA Chevrolets),
civilian cars, troop motorcycles, and some Jap vehicles. We felt they were
hiding them in near the Btry. Smith where there Endo’s force was .located.
We (us dumb company grade officers) felt the vehicles were hidden here in
order to transport troops where needed when we made an amphibious landing.
Regiment obviously never gave a thought to Japs concentrating in that area.
But they never sent one member of regimental intelligence to check out our
find of records in Btry. Smith. (Calhoun)
